Reconductoring of existing electrical distribution lines to improve reliability, safety and power-carrying capacity.
Our Kerala work involves upgrading existing electrical distribution lines by replacing old or inadequate conductors with new conductors as per approved technical specifications. The objective is to improve the reliability of the network, strengthen safety and increase its ability to carry power efficiently.
The work starts with survey and inspection of the existing line and associated structures. Based on site condition and approved requirements, old conductors are removed where required and new conductors are supplied, strung, sagged and properly tensioned. Damaged or inadequate poles, cross-arms, insulators, clamps and other line accessories are also replaced or strengthened wherever necessary.
Scope of work
Survey and inspection of the existing electrical line and associated structures
Dismantling and removal of existing conductors wherever required
Supply, stringing, sagging and proper tensioning of new conductors as per approved specifications
Replacement or strengthening of damaged or inadequate poles, cross-arms, insulators, clamps and line accessories
Installation of required hardware and fittings
Maintaining prescribed clearances from buildings, roads, trees and other utilities
Proper earthing and safety arrangements as per applicable electrical standards
Testing and inspection of the reconductored line before energisation
Site restoration after completion of work
Handling and disposal of dismantled materials as directed by the concerned authority
Execution and safety approach
The work is carried out according to the approved design, technical specifications, safety regulations and instructions of the concerned electrical authority. Necessary precautions are taken throughout execution to protect workers, the public and the existing electrical infrastructure.
Project value
This work demonstrates ARN Nirman's capability in electrical distribution improvement, conductor replacement, line strengthening and safe field execution—not only in smart metering but also in core power-distribution infrastructure.
